Since the early days of the Korg M1 workstation Korg has led the market with all encompassing synthesizers with the ability to deliver the complete audio backing package. The Korg Kronos Synthesizer is available as the Korg Kronos 61 with a synth keyboard action, the Korg Kronos 73 with a RH3 Real Weighted Hammer Action and the flagship Korg Kronos 88 again with a RH3 Real Weighted Hammer Action.

The 8" TFT custom TouchView graphical user interface is 800x600 dots and has adjustable brightness. The interface is full colour and with greater definition is far above the best user interface on a professional workstation keyboard to-date. Using the 16 track midi sequencer and 16 track audio sequencer becomes enjoyable due to this ground breaking screen. 

The Korg Kronos Workstation holds its key power under the interface with a huge 9 engine synthesiser :

All these engines can be worked together to create new and unique sounds or separately using the internal 16 track sequencer or external computer based system. The internal controls have also been expanded to offer joysticks, sliders, knobs, switches, a ribbon controller, assignable pedals and of course the new high resolution full colour touch view. This touch view can also be used in the same way you would use a Korg Kaoss Pad.
In addition the Korg Kronos boasts the ultimate effects suite allowing 16 simultaneous effects to run with 185 effect types to choose from.

The Korg Karma algorithms are installed with all the drum track power found on the Korg M3 and Korg M50 Workstations.

The Korg Kronos for the first time has the ability to sample from any source, both internally and externally. The Kronos can import AIFF, WAVE, SoundFont 2.09 and AKAI S1000/3000 via USB. This gives the Kronos the ability to import samples from your previous work and enhance with the on-board processing.

The Korg Kronos also works hand in hand with external computer based systems with a DAW on screen editor available as a Free of charge download. In addition the Kronos can be used as an Audio Interface via USB when linked to your computer creating the simplest possible set-up.

Staff Review

The first time I got my hands on the Korg Kronos 61 I was in love! The Korg Workstation is the most powerful keyboard sequencer on the market with an amazing user interface thanks to its full colour high resolution touch screen. The range of sounds from Orchestral to lead synth, Live drum sounds to hip hop 808 drum sounds all fully editable means that the Kronos workstation covers all music styles.

The Grand Piano sounds and vintage electric piano sounds are breathtaking and with the 16 insert effects changing sounds without audio drop out means having the Korg Kronos in your live keyboard rig is a dream.

Had mine for 2 months, very pleased. Use it in my Recording studio as my main sound engine. The Karma is incredible for composition and writing. The 61 key is thew ideal size for non piano players like myself.
