The Limited Edition Korg WAVEDRUM Oriental now features a range of popular, unique and accurate set of Arabic percussion sounds, all eminently playable from the dynamic rim and real drum head surface.

Arabic percussion has a groove and exotic atmosphere that ignores traditional western musical theory and performance, that is expressed through the sound of distinctive percussion instruments including the darbuka; the riq, def and tar, even the bendir. Striking the surfaces of there Arabic percussion instruments is simple, yet they are able to produce a wide range of subtle timbres, an essential requirement for playing these Arabic sounds.  The WAVEDRUM  is renowned for its revolutionary synthesis technology, and by an interface that relies on direct physical performance, making it an ideal instrument for replicating and articulating Arabic percussion sounds.

The new WAVEDRUM Orinetal adds a largae selection of algorithms and PCM samples dedicated to Arabic percussion and tone. All of the sounds have been faithfully enginner to simulate the distinctive ways the timbre of the instruments is affected by subtly in the users playing technique and the position of the strike on there acoustic instruments. With 150 preset programs and 150 user programs, you can now choose from a total of 300 varying sounds, tones and textures. The WAVEDRUMs appearance has also been enhanced, the boby is now white, much like a Darbukas high quality ceramic finish, which is complimented by a deep red coloured rim.

The WAVEDRUM Oriental is at the head of a new musical movement, and is the perfect instrument for the percussionist seeking a broader range of sounds, and a performance that is both traditional and creative.
