Why Ableton? Why Maxx?
The "Ableton Live. Maximized" campaign features new exciting instruments available via the Max for Live platform. Here is a quick run-down of the brand-new devices your customers get when they purchase during this campaign:
- Granulator by Robert Henke - a sample-based granular synthesizer: Sound artist Robert Henke creates the tools that define his sound. Using Max for Live, Robert made the 'Granulator', which can transform any sound into a lush soundscape or a wall of noise.
- Schwarzonator II by Henrik Schwarz- A MIDI device that automatically fits MIDI notes to a selected musical scale: Jazz/soul/electronica legend Henrik Schwarz used Max for Live to create the 'Schwarzonator II', which automatically fits the notes he plays to a musical scale.
- Instant Haus by Alexkid - a beat generator optimized for house music: Producer Alexkid is a master of house music. He's put that knowledge into his 'Instant Haus' Max for Live device, which instantly generates drum patterns to craft into your own house track.
- APC-Step-Sequencer by Mark Egloff - an easy way to turn the Akai APC40 or APC20 into a full-featured step sequencer: A mild-mannered logistics expert by day, Mark Egloff creates Max for Live devices for Live and Akai controllers at night.
- Classic Synths by Katsuhiro Chiba - a suite of devices containing three synthesizers with a classic 80s sound: Inspired by classic 80s hardware synths, Japanese musician Katsuhiro Chiba used Max for Live to build three synthesizers that capture the iconic sound of the era.
- Kapture by Richie Hawtin and Gareth Williams - a device that allows for the saving states of your Live Set as a preset that can be instantly recalled: For the 2010 reincarnation of Plastikman, Richie Hawtin's grand artistic vision required mastermind Gareth Williams to design a Max for Live device to help the tour become reality.
- Pitch Drop by Mormo - a recreation of the sound of a vinyl record slowing down after the turntable's motor is stopped: Electronic music producer Mormo wanted a specific sound. He took matters into his own hands and used Max for Live to make it happen in a day.
Please note: In order to use these new devices, you will need to download and install the latest update for Ableton Live and Max (Live 8.2.2 and Max 5.1.8).
