The Nord Piano 2 HA88 gives the performer the power to split and layer an amazing selection of Grand Piano and Electric Piano sounds from the hugely versatile Nord Sample Library. In addition the Nord Piano 2 has a sample/synthesiser section enabling the user to incorporate any sounds from either the internal set or the Nord library, these can be used in both split and layer modes.

The Piano 2 incorporates the Triple Pedal feature from the Nord Piano 88 that can create the mechanical stomp and sizzle noises that happen when releasing the damper pedal on a piano. The advanced String Resonance feature simulates the effect that occurs when un-dampened strings are resonated, another reason why the Nord Piano 2 is the closest instrument to a piano on the market today.

The Nord Piano 2 also has an extensive effects section including Phaser, Wah-wah, Flanger, Chorus and Delay effects, plus a 3-band Equalizer, Amp Simulator, Compressor and Reverb.

The Nord library offers more than 1000 high quality sampled instruments including strings, brass, synths and basses as well as classics such as Mellotron and Chamberlin. The Nord sample library is constantly upgraded by the Swedish team to make sure your instrument is fresh and new. The new librarian allows the user to incorporate their own samples and import into the Nord Piano 2 for live or studio performance.

Staff Review

I loved the original Clavia Nord Piano but the Piano 2 HA88 takes the stage piano to new levels. The primary piano sample and sympathetic string resonance sampling surrounds you when listened to in a stereo world, the action has clearly laid and tested to get it spot on. The vintage sounds, especially the Rhodes 73 which they pulled from a limited edition silver sparkle, are spectacular. The Clav is spot on! Live performance on the Nord Piano is very strong and removes the need for multiple window editing. Simple and brilliant. Buy one!
