Cabinet design has always been a known problem in loudspeaker creation. Sound colouration and radiations coming from diffraction and cabinet resonances are the usual sources of these problems. There are very few studio monitor designers on the market who have been willing to break the mould and create an acoustic enclosure with a complex geometry.

The goal when designing the Egg Studio Monitors was to remove step changes in the radiation impedance and almost all the internal vibration modes. Having achieved this the Egg has no spectral distortion other then the speaker drivers themselves.

Andy Munro, the chief designer, personally tested a huge range of speaker drivers until achieving reliability and ultimately audio accuracy.

The outcome is an amazingly accurate and honest studio monitor that looks unique and post-modern.

The Egg Studio Monitors are passive and are packaged with a high spec amplifier with multiple audio inputs. The monitors and amp are matched at quality control stage and package then delivered that way.
